Keep Homestead Museum sponsored by Monson Savings
Join us for a night of networking and get a chance to view one of the largest collections of Antique and Vintage Buttons on display in the Northeast.
The buttons are exhibited on a rotating basis, but on permanent display is the fantastic collection of Mosaic Buttons. They depict flowers, birds, animals, people, common buildings and not-so-common building scenes. In addition to the fabulous button collection, tour the museum and marvel at the items collected by the Keep family who lived there for over 150 years. There is furniture, silver and cut glass, collections of rocks, minerals and shells, quilts and other needlework done by the women of the family, Visit the bedroom that Charles and Pearl Keep moved into on their wedding day in 1893 and that has the original wallpaper, carpet, furniture and the bill-of-sale for the furniture. There is a sculpture garden that can be visited if the weather allows. When the tornado hit Monson, it destroyed the woods surrounding the former home of Alan Robert Phillips, a well-known sculptor. His sculptures have found a new home in the gardens of the Keep.
