KEEP HOMESTEAD MUSEUM “Deborah Sampson, A Revolution of Her Own!” with Judith Kalaora of History at Play at the Keep Homestead Museum 35 Ely Rd., Monson, MA  on Sunday, October 6 at 1:30pm. Outdoors (weather permitting, otherwise in the barn), bring a lawn chair and dress for the weather.

Deborah Sampson [Samson], the first woman to enlist, to fight, and to be honorably discharged from the American Military captivates audiences in an hour-long program chronicling her life. An indentured servant by age five, Deborah grew up in a man’s world, where women were naught but second-class citizens. Without the ability to vote or to own property, Deborah knew her options were limited, breaking the rules may be necessary to accomplish a greater goal in life.

The museum will be open to visitors, 1:00-3:30pm. There is no admission charge (although donations will be accepted) and refreshments will be served. For more information, call 413-267-4137, email khm@keephomesteadmuseum.org or check the web at www.keephomesteadmuseum.org
