Trainer Bio:
Sam Solomon is a counselor with Boston SCORE, a chapter of the nation’s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors, dedicated to helping small businesses and nonprofit organizations develop, grow and achieve their goals.
Following a stint in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, he spent ten years with the US government, the final four as an appointee of President Jimmy Carter,focusing on education and civil rights in the Department of Health Education & Welfare, and served as director of intergovernmental relations in the then-new Department of Education. He then relocated to Boston to become chief of staff to the president of the University of Massachusetts system. From 1991-2019, he was an independent consultant, working with clients in the nonprofit and public sectors in a range of areas, including organization development, management and program evaluations; strategic planning; executive transition management; executive search and executive coaching; and grantwriting and campaign planning.
Sam holds BA and MA degrees in English (University of South Carolina) and an MPA in public policy (University of Southern California), and lives in Brookline, Massachusetts.
