Monson Savings Bank Donates $5,000 to The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts to Help Community Members in Need
– Giving back to local communities and their residents is a commitment that Monson Savings Bank takes great pride in and follows through on regularly. Recently, the Bank donated $5,000 to The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts, Inc. in an effort to help address the food insecurity challenges being faced by many in the local area.
“This year has been more difficult than ever for many residents. As a local community bank, it is our duty to help those most in need. We take our responsibility very seriously and do whatever is possible to help residents who are struggling,” said Steve Lowell, CEO of Monson Savings Bank. “We are so proud to have a great relationship with The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts and are thankful for the impact they make in our communities every day.”
With people experiencing difficulties due to COVID-19 and other circumstances, many hard-working families are living week to week, seeking food assistance to fill gaps resulting from a shortage or loss of income. Thankfully, they can count on the dedicated staff, volunteers, donors and community partners of The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts
Since 1982, The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts has been feeding neighbors in need and leading the community to end hunger. The organization provides food to independent member feeding sites in Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire counties. These independent pantries, meal sites and shelters are on the front lines of emergency food assistance in the region, providing sustenance to individuals, families, seniors, children, veterans and people with disabilities to lead healthy and meaningful lives. The Food Bank relies on community support to carry out its mission. Donations can be made online at www.foodbankwma.org
